The Big Debate - Digital Revolution: More Power or More Powerless?

Mon 9th June – International Convention Centre

Digital Revolution: More Power or More Powerless? Will be the question posed at The Big Debate, at the ICC, in which a panel of media experts, leading social commentators and a live audience will respond to key issues raised by the festival’s theme.

Chaired by Rory Cellan-Jones, Technology Correspondent for BBC News, the distinguished panel will explore the explosions in the online economy and social networking, in virtual worlds, gaming and the surveillance industry which are fast becoming all pervasive. They will review the cultural shift and identify if the changes within this media are provoking a wider range of content or a shift in focus.

The theme is highly topical nationally but also reflects on a regional digital focus against the backdrop of the impending launch of the Digital Film Festival and Birmingham City’s new digital status.

Free Admission.
